The Atlanta Braves have finally given second baseman Tommy La Stella his long awaited shot at the big leagues, Mark Bowman reports, just in time for the team's two-game series at Fenway Park.

La Stella, 25, .293 with a .384 on-base percentage in 47 games with Triple-A Gwinnett this year. He's by no means a power threat, but he puts the ball in play and gets on base.

Bowman also confirmed that while the Braves have yet to announce a corresponding move, Dan Uggla is staying with the big league club. With Tuesday's events, that could mean that Andrelton Simmons could be destined for the disabled list or that Tyler Pastornicky will be sent to the minors.
