The Atlanta Braves got around salary arbitration with Brandon Beachy by signing the pitcher to a one-year contract worth $1.45 million, Chris Cotillo reports.
The 27-year-old Beachy only pitched 30 innings in 2013 while coming back from Tommy John surgery. He had a 4.50 ERA in five starts in a year plagued by setbacks.
Atlanta's rotation now figures to feature Beachy, Mike MInor, Kris Medlen, Julio Teheran and Gavin Floyd, with Alex Wood likely taking Floyd's spot in his Tommy John rehab.
Beachy was dominating with an MLB-leading 2.00 ERA over 80 innings when he went down with a partially torn UCL in 2012.
