Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen may have won the National League MVP award on Thursday, but Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman placed fifth in the voting to cap off his own successful season.

Freeman received votes on all 30 ballots, but he didn't get any top three votes.

That doesn't diminish Freeman's great season, during which he hit .319 with 23 home runs. His 4.8 WAR was only the NL's 11th-best, but his .443 average with runners in scoring position was second best in the Senior Circuit. Freeman also hit .411 with runners in scoring position and two outs.

Among other Braves to receive MVP votes, Craig Kimbrel finished 11th and Andrelton Simmons placed 14th.
