Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez decided to tweak St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright for saying his antics after hitting a double in game three of the National League Championship Series were "Mickey Mouse."
So, after hitting a go-ahead homer in the third inning of game five, Gonzalez mimicked a pair of Mickey Mouse ears on his way back to the dugout.
But Gonzo went on to say it wasn't personal.
"I was just having fun with the comment that was made earlier," said Gonzalez. "Nothing against them or anything."
And that' what the Dodgers don't understand. Gonzalez will catch one in the ribs from a Cardinals pitcher sometime soon, even if it has to be next season.
Seriously, there's a reason they're more disliked than the New York Yankees right now, and it's because of stuff like this. And since the Yanks are not the most-hated team right now, it might be a good time to grab some autographed gear from MJR Sports Integrity. The sooner MLB starts policing the bush league antics, the better.
