Looking on the Bright Side: Atlanta Braves Also Blown Out Before Sid Bream’s Slide in 1992

Atlanta Braves fans need something to hold on to after Sunday's 13-6 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers to put them in a 2-1 hole in the National League Division Series. Mark Bowman tweeted something that may be of use.

 

The Braves lost to the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-4 in game six of the 1992 National League Championship Series. That, of course, was the game before Sid Bream's legendary slide to win game seven and send the Braves to the World Series.

Granted, Tuesday's game four of the series won't offer the Braves a series win or a walk-off, but baseball has a strange history that often repeats itself, and we'll take whatever we can get going into a must-win situation.
