The Atlanta Braves got the win they needed over the Philadelphia Phillies in the series finale Sunday, but they didn't get a St. Louis Cardinals loss to the Chicago Cubs, so they'll host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series.

The Braves pounded the Phillies in a 12-5 win at Turner Field, led by a four-hit game by Gerald Laird and three-hit performances by Andrelton Simmons and Evan Gattis.

Still, the Cardinals shutout the Cubs in their finale, leaving the Braves with 96 wins and the second seed in the NL  playoffs.

Atlanta will, however, host the Dodgers in the first round. Game 1 will pit Clayton Kershaw against Kris Medlen on Thursday.
