Atlanta Braves Walk-Off with Win Over Milwaukee Brewers

Andrelton Simmons hit a ninth inning walk-off single that scored Justin Upton with the winning run as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 3-2 Tuesday night at Turner Field in Atlanta.

Freddy Garcia allowed two runs through 6 2/3 innings for the Braves, who inch closer to home field advantage for the National League playoffs with the win. The Braves remain 1/2 game ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals for the National League's best record.

Atlanta's magic number for home field advantage is down to four.

Evan Gattis had two hits for the Braves, including an RBI double in the fourth that scored Freddie Freeman. Freeman also had two hits, a run scored and a run batted in for Atlanta.

Braves closer Craig Kimbrel notched the win after striking out the side in the ninth.

Shortstop Jeff Bianchi homered and Scooter Gennett added a pair of singles for the Brewers.

The three-game series with the Brewers will conclude tomorrow night at Turner Field with the Braves sending Paul Maholm (10-10, 4.44) to the mound to face Kyle Lohse (10-10, 3.51). Game time is scheduled for 7:10 PM.
