Atlanta Braves lefty pitcher Scott Downs has left their game with the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park after being hit by a comebacker off the bat of Chase Utley.

Utley lined the second pitch he saw from Downs right back up the middle, hitting downs on his right, non-throwing hand.  The ball ricocheted to Freddie Freeman at first, and Downs nearly beat Utley to the bag for the out.

After being checked out by head trainer Jeff Porter, Downs came out with what appeared to be a cut on his right ring finger.

David Carpenter entered in a double switch with Elliot Johnson taking Dan Uggla's place at second base.
