Tyler Pastornicky, called up from the minors this week by the Atlanta Braves, will have season-ending knee surgery, the Braves announced today.

Pastornicky suffered a torn ACL after colliding with right fielder Jason Heyward on a play Wednesday night.

He was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday to start in place of second baseman Dan Uggla, who went on the disabled list to have laser eye surgery.

The Braves will replace Pastornicky on the roster with Phil Gosselin. Gosselin, a fifth-round draft pick with the Braves in 2010, has split time this season between Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett. He is batting .258 over 106 games this year.

Gosselin will be available for tonight's 7:30 game in Atlanta against the Washington Nationals.
