After dropping one game in each series against the Miami Marlins and the Philadelphia Phillies, the Atlanta Braves prepare to take on the second place Washington Nationals, who come in having won four of their last five games.

Turner Field Behind Homeplate Stands

The Braves conclude a 9-game homestand hosting the Nationals for three games, currently holding a 14.5 game division lead in the NL East, the largest division lead in the MLB.

The Braves are also 2.5 games ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates for the best record in the National League, while also having the best record in baseball.

The match-up's in this series look to be very exciting, with match-ups between Alex Wood and Taylor Jordan, Mike Minor and Stephen Strasburg, as well as Julio Teheran and Gio Gonzalez.

The Braves have had success in each series with the Nationals this season, sporting a 7-3 record in the 10 games played, having yet to lose a series to the Nationals this season.

While the magic number for the Braves to mathematically clinch the division stands at 29 games, winning the series here would virtually end the Nationals' chances of a play-off berth.
