According to Mark Bowman, Jordan Walden is hoping to be pitching again as soon as this Friday after being struck on the right hand in Saturday's 1-0 loss to the Miami Marlins.

Fortunately, the injury was nothing more than a bruise on Walden's pitching hand, requiring a few days rest in order to reduce the swelling.

Luis Ayala and David Carpenter have filled the set-up role normally filled by Walden, who sports a 2.50 ERA for the year, and brandishes a 1.2 WAR in his 2013 campaign with the Atlanta Braves.

The Braves are currently 14 games ahead of the Washington Nationals, which has made dealing with the Walden's absence much easier.
