Atlanta Braves second baseman Tyler Pastornicky, filling in for starter Dan Uggla, collided with right fielder Jason Heyward while attempting to catch a fly ball in the top of the third inning.

Pastornicky suffered a sprained left knee and is listed as day-to-day.

The injury is a major blow to Pastornicky who was called up from Triple-A Gwinett on Tuesday to replace Uggla, who went on the DL after undergoing laser eye surgery. He was in a position to play regularly until Uggla returns and into September following roster expansion.

Paul Janish has moved to second base for the Braves and starter Andrelton Simmons, sitting out with a scheduled day off, has entered the game at shortstop.
