The Atlanta Braves got a scare Saturday night when Jordan Walden took a comebacker off his pitching hand in a loss to the Miami Marlins, but the good thing is that all he has to do is wait for the swelling to go down before he can pitch again.
X-rays on Walden's hand after the game were negative, and he was optimistic about getting back into the action soon.
“It’s just a bruise,” Walden told ajc.com. “It’s calmed down a lot today. Once this goes down, I’ll be good. Hopefully a couple of days.”
Walden took the loss on a wild pitch in Saturday's game, but he has just a 1.35 ERA over his last 29 appearances.
