Atlanta Braves reliever Jordan Walden added injury to insult when he was hit in his pitching hand with a comebacker in Atlanta's 1-0 loss to the Miami Marlins on Saturday, but he thankfully won't need a stint on the disabled list.
Walden completed two thirds of an inning, taking the loss after Adeiny Hechavarria tripled in the ninth and scored on a wild pitch, but the Braves are more concerned with the fact that he had to come out of the game when Logan Morrison lined a pitch off Walden's bare hand.
Somehow, Walden recovered and threw out Morrison at first, but he came out immediately with a bruised hand. X-rays taken after the game came out negative, though there was swelling.
The Braves' loss snapped their 14-game winning streak.
