Gerald Laird Resumes Baseball Activities, Should Rejoin Atlanta Braves Saturday August 8th, 2013 at 8:00 AM
By Cody Fields
Atlanta Braves catcher Gerald Laird has finally resumed baseball activities Wednesday afternoon for the first time since a procedure to remove kidney stones last week, ajc.com reports.
Laird worked out Wednesday with Class-A Rome. The Braves currently have him scheduled to play a minor league rehab game with Triple-A Gwinnett before being activated Saturday.
In the midst of the Braves having several standard injuries, Laird started struggling with trying to pass a kidney stone at the end of July. He has hit .293 in 28 games this season.
