Things got heated in the Atlanta Braves' 2-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday, when Julio Teheran plunked Bryce Harper with the first pitch of the at-bat in the fifth inning after Harper admired his homer in the third. Harper wasn't impressed.
The Braves then tweeted, "Clown move bro," in reference to Harper's, "That's a clown question, bro," he once said to a reporter. That Nationals weren't so keen.
@Braves Which part, giving up the home run, or drilling the 20-year-old on the first pitch his next time up?
Or maybe, Nationals, the clown move is falling behind 14 1/2 games in the National League East.
Harper asked for it by admiring his homer so long. If they want to play beanball in the series finale on Wednesday, they can go right ahead.
But they'll be watching the Braves in October.
