Atlanta Braves Make No Moves at Non-Waiver Trade Deadline July 31st, 2013 at 4:22 PM

Major League Baseball's non-waiver trade deadline has come and gone at 4 p.m. Eastern time, but the Atlanta Braves refrained from making any major moves.
The Houston Astros shipped Bud Norris, who was known to be targeted by Atlanta, to the Baltimore Orioles. That's fine; his platoon splits were awful.
The Boston Red Sox landed Jake Peavy from the Chicago White Sox; the Braves at one time were in on him as well.
Instead, Frank Wren is saving any additional moves past acquiring Scott Downs from the White Sox until sometime in August, when teams have to negotiate trades via the waiver wire.
In all, Braves fans can rest easy. They're still looking for a bat to come off the bench that can play infield, but not major upgrades are really needed.
