With the acquisition of lefty reliever Scott Downs, the Atlanta Braves had to make room on their roster, so they designated Kameron Loe for assignment, the team announced via Twitter.

Loe had been released by the Chicago Cubs and Seattle Mariners before signing a minor league contract with the Braves in May. He compiled a 3.19 ERA in 42 1/3 innings with Triple-A Gwinnett.

Standing at six feet, eight inches tall, Loe tied the Braves record for tallest player, but that didn't spare him from giving up three runs in 2 2/3 innings in his only appearances with the Braves on July 25.

Loe has an 8.15 ERA in 17 2/3 innings with three ball clubs this year, giving up nine homers in the process.
