Tim Hudson severely injured his ankle by New York Mets' outfielder Eric Young while covering first base in the eighth inning of the Atlanta Braves' 8-4 win Wednesday night. For those with weak stomachs, don't view the screen capture from the game broadcast below.
Hudson fell as soon as Young passed him, bearing no weight on his right leg. Braves' players immediately surrounded Hudson, who was in very visible pain. Young also came back to help Hudson and was wiping away tears.
EMTs attended to Hudson, and he was carted off the field on a stretcher.
No official word on Hudson's ankle has been provided, but it would be no surprise if it was severely broken and required surgery.
