Brandon Beachy will make his ninth minor rehab start Wednesday night with Triple-A Gwinnett, as the Atlanta Braves' pitcher may be activated as soon as next week from his Tommy John rehab.

Beachy completed five innings in 70 pitches on July 19, also completing a 15-pitch bullpen session after his outing. He gave up one run on five hits, striking out three in a win.

This is the fourth start Beachy has made since returning from being shut down after developing inflammation in his elbow on June 13. It could also be the final start Beachy makes in the minors before returning to Atlanta, who will be without Paul Maholm for at least two weeks.

There is also speculation that Beachy could also replace Kris Medlen in the starting rotation, citing Medlen's recent poor performance. With a five-day schedule, Beachy could start for the Braves as soon as Monday.
