Paul Maholm came out of the Atlanta Braves' loss to the Chicago White Sox on Saturday in the fourth inning with a sprained wrist, but Kevin McAlpin tweets that Fredi Gonzalez doesn't think he'll need a stint on the disabled list.

Maholm originally sprained the wrist while batting, but it started acting up on him again in the fourth inning of the loss. He gave up seven runs in three-plus innings, but Gonzalez iterated that Maholm should be fine.

"I know they X-rayed him and [found] nothing," Gonzalez said. "Everything came back negative. So, I think he's waiting to see the White Sox doctor [Saturday night] and see what they say. If we feel it's something more than that, we'll send him to our guys at home… but right now, we're just waiting."

Maholm's next scheduled start is Thursday against the New York Mets. If he can't pitch, then Brandon Beachy or Alex Wood would likely step in.
