If the Atlanta Braves were planning on trading Paul Maholm before the July 31 trade deadline, those plans may have just changed. Maholm was forced to leave Saturday's game with the Chicago White Sox with a sprained left wrist, so says the @Braves Twitter.

Maholm was charged with seven runs in three-plus innings in the outing. He was removed after giving up an RBI-single to Brent Morel with no outs in the fourth inning while pointing to his wrist and flexing his hand.

With the injury being a sprain, Maholm will almost definitely miss his next scheduled start. That means either Alex Wood or Brandon Beachy will replace Maholm in the rotation for the time being.

The official word does sound fishy, but that's what they're saying at the moment.
