To clear out a roster spot for the recently activated Evan Gattis, the Atlanta Braves have placed B.J. Upton on the disabled list with a right adductor muscle strain. The move is retroactive to July 13.
B.J. Upton has been placed on the 15-day DL (retroactive to 7/13) with a right adductor strain to make room for the return of Gattis.
Upton hurt his leg on a diving/sliding catch attempt on Friday when his knee dug into the ground. He left the game immediately.
The move may end up being a good time for Upton to clear his mind and refocus. He has struggled to a .177 average in the first half of the season, by far the worst among Major League qualifiers.Tags: Atlanta, Atlanta Braves, B.J. Upton, Baseball, Evan Gattis, MLB
