When someone has had his number retired by the Atlanta Braves, people generally take what he says seriously, so it will be interesting to see if fans heed to call of Chipper Jones to boycott games umpired by Angel Hernandez.
Our only recourse, as fans, is to turn the station whenever he, or his crew, are on the field. When viewer numbers go down, MLB will notice.
Chipper obviously has experience with Hernandez, who also tossed Bobby Cox a number of times. Jones is absolutely refusing to watch any games in which Hernandez is involved after Friday's ejections of Gerald Laird and Fredi Gonzalez after Hernandez's strike zone was shaky at best.
Hernandez should be manning third base for Saturday's game between the Braves and Philadelphia Phillies, so it remains to be seen if he will inject himself into the game again.
