The Atlanta Braves activated Luis Ayala from the disabled list on Friday, taking the place of the recently optioned Cory Gearrin, braves.com reports.

Gearrin put together 13 straight scoreless appearances to start the season, but has since compile a 9.90 ERA in his last 11 games.

Ayala, who was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles on April 10, has been on the DL with anxiety disorder since April 30. He has made six appearances with Triple-A Gwinett since June 20 and has been scoreless in four of those. The issue is that he has given up six runs in the other two.

Ayala had a 3.86 ERA in 4 2/3 innings with the Braves before going on the DL.
