The Atlanta Braves have signed their no. 1 pick Jason Hursh, a right-handed power pitcher from Oklahoma State University, to a deal with a $1.7 million signing bonus, mlbdailydish.com reports. Hursh also tweeted a picture of his official signing.
Hursh had a 2.79 ERA in 16 starts with OSU this season after missing all of 2012 with Tommy John surgery. His off-speed pitches still need work, but his true strength is his upper-90s fastball.
Hursh is the 18th draft pick from this year's draft that the Braves have signed.
