When the Atlanta Braves start their three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Monday, it will be the first time Justin Upton has played his old team since being traded over the offseason after two years of trade rumors.
"I think it's going to be cool," Upton said on braves.com. "I'm going to spend a few days in my own house, sleep in my own bed and play in surroundings that I'm used to. My five years there were fun. I had a blast playing there and being a part of those winning teams. A lot of friendships and relationships that I had in Arizona, they were great and I enjoyed my time there."
The same can be said for Chris Johnson, who has struggled lately, going hitless in his last 18 at-bats after starting out red hot.
Mike Minor looks to continue the success he had against the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, when he threw seven innings and gave up just one run. He has the best ERA in the Braves' rotation this year at 2.96.
The Braves enter the series at 21-16 with a one-game lead on the Washington Nationals in the National League East. The Diamondbacks currently stand at 21-17 and are two games behind the San Francisco Giants in the National League West.
