The Braves and Royals, as well as every other Major League team, will wear Robinson's no. 42 in honor for his breaking the color barrier in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Robinson's no. 42 was retired across all of baseball in 1997 at the order of commissioner Bud Selig. The only player who still wears a grandfathered in 42 is New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera.Tags: Atlanta, Atlanta Braves, Jackie Robinson, Kansas City Royals, MLB
