The Toronto Blue Jays have expressed interest to the Atlanta Braves for a trade involving Tyler Pastornicky, Jim Bowden tweets.

Pastornicky originally came to Braves in the July 2010 trade that also brought Alex Gonzalez to Atlanta while shipping off Yunel Escobar, but the Blue Jays are desperate for a stopgap solution at shortstop after Jose Reyes severely sprained his ankle, shutting him down for three months.

Pastornicky hit .243 in 76 games last season for the Braves, his first Major League season.
