Atlanta Braves legend Chipper Jones reiterated his commitment to retiring after the 2012 season countless times in his final year, but that hasn't stopped teams from inquiring into the 40-year-old slugger, the New York Post's Mark Hale reports.

Hale says that B.B. Abbott, Chipper's agent, confirmed that numerous teams have called to see if Jones is available for one more year, presumably as a DH. Jones, however, is committed to remaining retired.

Contrary to rumors, the New York Yankees were not among said teams.

Even while hobbling on balky knees last year, Jones still threw up a .287 batting average and 14 homers in 112 games. He also dribbled a single in the All-Star Game in Kansas City.
