The Atlanta Braves and Brian McCann have agreed to hold off until the end of the 2013 season to discuss a possible contract extension, Jim Duquette reports.
The Braves exercised their $12 million option on McCann for 2013, but his career-worst .230 batting average and lingering shoulder issues obviously played into their decision to shy away from anything long term.
McCann has become one of the game's premier offensive catchers, hitting .270 with 159 career homers over eight years.
