Loading ...The Atlanta Braves have claimed right-handed reliever David Carpenter off waivers from the Boston Red Sox, Mark Bowman tweeted earlier Friday.
The Red Sox had designated the 27-year-old for assignment 10 days ago. He had spent the last two seasons with the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays before being traded to the Sox in October.
Carpenter struggled to an ERA of 8.07 in 2012 but had a 2.93 ERA in 34 games in 2011.
