Peter Moylan managed to get a one-year minor league contract from the Atlanta Braves for 2012 after being plagued by injuries during 2011. After finally appearing in a few games at the end of last season, will the Braves bring him back in 2013?
The injury-prone Aussie submariner has traditionally been very reliable when healthy, but the problem is finding him at a time when he's not hurt. He was Bobby Cox's go-to reliever in 2007, 2009 and 2010, but he missed most of 2008, 2011 and 2012.
In his most successful years, he appeared in at least 80 games. But even though his last couple of years have been rife with shoulder and back issues, Moylan's career ERA still sits at 2.59.
Given Jonny Venters' rough 2012 season that saw him land on the disabled list essentially for overusing his elbow over two years, the Braves may need Moylan's services, assuming he's healthy.
And if he only costs the club a minor league deal, it might be worth it.Tags: Atlanta, Atlanta Braves, MLB, Peter Moylan
