Former Atlanta Braves outfielder Melky Cabrera signed a two-year deal worth $16 million, the Toronto Blue Jays officially announced today.
The move comes after Cabrera served a 50-game suspension for having elevated levels of testosterone, ending his career best season in which he was hitting .346/.390/.516 with 11 homers, 25 doubles and 10 triples with the San Francisco Giants.
Cabrera also joins Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle as the Jay's latest additions, the latter three come via trade from the Miami Marlins.
Braves fans may remember Cabrera's lackluster 2010 season when he hit .255 with just four home runs in 147 games.
