Atlanta Braves center fielder Michael Bourn has finally taken the field after missing six games with a sprained left thumb.
Fredi Gonzalez originally didn't include Bourn in his lineup Sunday morning, but Bourn convinced him otherwise in the indoor batting cages at Turner Field, ajc.com reports.
Bourn originally injured his thumb Sept. 22 in Philadelphia on a head-first slide into second base, something he usually advises against. An MRI showed no structural damage, but the thumb had been bothersome since then.
