After flying back to Atlanta for an X-ray on Thursday, the Atlanta Braves have confirmed that shortstop Paul Janish will miss 2-4 weeks due to his dislocated shoulder, Dave O'Brien reports.

Janish, who dislocated his left shoulder while diving for a grounder on Tuesday, had his shoulder examined on Thursday by Braves orthopedist Xavier Duralde. He will be out a minimum of two weeks, erasing the rest of his regular season. The team, however hopes he can avoid surgery and potentially be ready for the playoffs.

Among other injured shortstops, Andrelton Simmons was out of the lineup Friday for the third straight game with his own sore left shoulder, prompting Martin Prado to make another start.
