Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann has missed three straight games since getting a cortisone shot in his ailing right shoulder Saturday night, but ajc.com reports that he should return to action tonight against the Colorado Rockies at Turner Field.
McCann, who has been diagnosed with a cyst and a frayed labrum in his right shoulder, hit in the indoor batting cages and threw Tuesday afternoon.
The corisone shot McCann received Saturday was his second in less than a month. He also had an injection on Aug. 7. McCann is hitting just .171 (13-for-76) with no extra-base hits and just two RBIs since Aug. 1.
McCann is hitting .228 for the season and has a $12 million club option for the 2013 season with a $500,000 buyout.
