The Atlanta Braves have announced their Arizona Fall League roster, braves.com reports. Out of the six players they are sending, pitcher Zeke Spruill and infielders Edward Salcedo and Nick Ahmed are highlighted in the group with Double-A Mississippi manager Aaron Holbert managing the Phoenix Desert Dogs. Catcher Matt Kennelly and right-handed pitchers Gus Schlosser and Cory Rasmus will join the other three Braves in the AFL.
Ahmed was drafted in 2011 as a shortstop out of the University of Connecticut. He stole 38 bases and batted .261 in 124 games at High-A Lynchburg.
Salcedo, a third baseman, slumped with a .153 average this month and finished his season in Lynchburg with a .236 average and 14 homers.
Spruill was drafted in 2008, and 2012 marked his first year higher than Single-A. He went 9-11 with a 3.69 ERA in 26 starts for Mississippi.
