In yet another turn to a tumultuous year for Jair Jurrjens, the Atlanta Braves have placed him on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin.
Jurrjens injured his groin while pitching an inning in relief during the Braves' 7-1 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, though Fredi Gonzalez says the injury is minor.
Gonzalez also said Jurrjens will complete a rehab assignment before returning to action, which could be for Triple-A Gwinnett.
Jurrjens was already sent back to Gwinnett for two months earlier this season, and after going 3-4 with a 6.89 ERA this season has been replaced in the starting rotation by Paul Maholm.
