Atlanta Braves reliever Jonny Venters threw on Wednesday for the first time since going on the disabled list July 5 with an elbow impingement. After positive results then, he also threw Thursday.
The lefty felt "great" after his flat ground throwing sessions.
"My arm felt like it was coming out good," Venters told mlb.com. "I'm encouraged."
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said Venters is on target to come off the DL when he is eligible on July 20.
