Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones has been named to National League squad of the 2012 All-Star Game in Kansas City, Dave O'Brien reports.
Matt Kemp, who is currently on the disabled list with a hamstring injury, will not be able to play in All-Star Game, so National League manager Tony La Russa named Jones as Kemp's replacement, paving the way for Jones' eighth career All-Star appearance.
In his final season, the only Major League stadium Jones has not played in is Kauffman Stadium. That will change in a week.
Chipper was originally listed among four other candidates, including Michael Bourn, in the Final Vote.
