Best known for his comments about the No. 7 train that ran to Shea Stadium in 1999, former Atlanta Braves reliever John Rocker has gotten under some people's skin once again with his comments to World Net Daily that he would vote for "the devil himself" over President Barack Obama in the upcoming November election.

In the interview that was mainly about Rocker's book, Scars and Strikes, Rocker also went off on the subject of politics and the infamous interview with Sports Illustrated.

Rocker also made it clear that he would pick Satan – red skin, bifurcated tail and hayfork to boot – to run the country over Obama.

"In my strong opinion Barack Obama does not hold a single core value or belief consistent with the principles that created this amazing country we call the United States of America," Rocker said. "I would vote for the devil himself over Barack Obama, which would actually be tough, though, as he seems to already be a supporter."

The lefty, who last pitched in 2003, now works in real estate, also had some pointed remarks about the 1999 interview he said "ruined" his career.

"Pearlman spent nearly 10 hours with me that day, and we engaged in numerous very long-winded conversations," Rocker said. "Strategically extracting a sentence fragment here and separate thought there, Pearlman painted the exact picture of me he intended from the very beginning."

And the motive?

"All to sell a few [expletive] magazines," Rocker said.
