Ross strained his groin on a check swing last Friday, which, combined with Brian McCann's case of flu, forced the Braves to recall Boscan from Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves proceeded to send Kris Medlen to Triple-A to reconvert him to a starter while bringing back up Jose Constanza.
Compared to normal, the Braves are one arm short in their bullpen, but Gonzalez has said that since the Braves have off days on Thursday and Monday, he could use Randall Delgado in relief if needed.
Ross told mlb.com that his groin is feeling better, but he still not able to run full speed.
"I caught [Tuesday] in the bullpen," Ross said. "I could catch if I had to. Running is the thing."
When Ross is able to play again, the Braves will send down Boscan in favor of another reliever, likely Cory Gearrin. Gearrin has given up three runs in 29 2/3 innings in Triple-A.Tags: Atlanta, Atlanta Braves, David Ross, J.C. Boscan, MLB
