Juan Francisco will make his Atlanta Braves debut Saturday when he starts at third base against the New York Mets and right-hander R.A. Dickey, Dave O'Brien reports.
Fredi Gonzalez intends to use Francisco at third and Martin Prado in left field against right-handed pitching. Last year in Triple-A, Francisco hit righties at a .343 clip. He hit .269 against lefties.
In just 169 Major League at-bats, Francisco has hit .284 with five homers.
Francisco was acquired by the Braves in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds involving J.J. Hoover.
