The light bullpen session meant that the catcher never even went into a squat, and Hudson will fly back to Atlanta on Tuesday for a check up that wlil hopefully clear him to throw full bullpen sessions. Hudson had surgery on Nov. 28 to fuse his L5 and S1 vertebrae.
"I don't feel like there has been any setback since the last time I saw the doctor, which means things are still healing up," Hudson said. "If it would have gotten real sore or something felt different, there might have been a setback. But there wasn't any of that."
Hudson originally planned to have the surgery after his career, but the pain became unbearable after he began his offseason workouts in November. He now feels so good, that he believes he can pitch even past his current contract, which expires after the 2013 season.
