As we reported previously, Brian McCann is not currently worried about getting a contract extension. It seems the Atlanta Braves are not worried either.
In fact, the Braves and McCann have yet to being any kind of negotiation for a contract extension, Dave O'Brien reports.
McCann is entering the final year of his contract and will make $11.5 million. The club has an option worth $12 million in 2013 or can exercise a $500,000 buyout. It seems likely the Braves will make an offer next offseason.
But McCann, a six-time All-Star, is still not concerned with it.
“I’m going to go out and play baseball and see what happens,” he said. “I prepare every offseason like I do. Hopefully we have a productive season and go from there.”
McCann's agent is B.B. Abbott, who also represents Chipper Jones.
