The Atlanta Braves have released minor league utility man Marcus Lemon after one season in the organization.
The Braves acquired Lemon in a trade with the Texas Rangers last March for a player to be named later. The Rangers drafted Lemon in the fourth round of the 2006 draft and gave him a $1 million signing bonus.
Lemon never particularly lived up to a seven-figure bonus and only got as high as the Double- A level. He hit a combined .254 last year between Advanced-A Lynchburg and Double-A Mississipi.
