Legendary Chicago White Sox slugger Frank Thomas is on board with the Atlanta Braves hiring Greg Walker as their new hitting coach.

Thomas cited Walker's experience and being a Georgia native among the reasons that it "makes sense" in a video interview with mlb.com.

Though Thomas only hit .267 during the three years he played with Walker as his hitting coach, with his 2004 and 2005 seasons being hampered by injuries, he said Walker "gets it" that he is an effective teacher who understands players' mindsets.
