Already having spent two weeks on the disabled list in June with shoulder tendonitis, the Atlanta Braves have sent Tommy Hanson back to Atlanta to have his sore right shoulder evaluated.

"When a pitcher, athlete or baseball player comes to you and says, 'I don't feel good,' I think you need to go through the whole process of getting him checked out," Fredi Gonzalez said.

Hanson has struggled in his last five starts, going 1-3 with an ERA of 8.10. His last start in New York against the Mets saw him leave balls over the plate, and the Mets took advantage of it with four homers over 3 1/3 innings.

Mike Minor has been called up to pitch on regular rest on Friday, and Hanson's next start has been moved back to Tuesday on four extra days of rest against the San Francisco Giants.
