Hanson has struggled in his last five starts, going 1-3 with an ERA of 8.10. His last start in New York against the Mets saw him leave balls over the plate, and the Mets took advantage of it with four homers over 3 1/3 innings.
Mike Minor has been called up to pitch on regular rest on Friday, and Hanson's next start has been moved back to Tuesday on four extra days of rest against the San Francisco Giants.
