Last year’s National League starting catcher in the All-Star game is in a spot to start again.

Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann is currently leading NL catchers with 1,123,943 votes, according to Major League Baseball reports today. He has passed and is now currently 60,000 votes ahead of San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, who is likely out for the season due to injury.

McCann has been an All-Star in all five years in the big leagues, but he has never started in the Midsummer Classic.

Braves third baseman Chipper Jones is currently only behind the Philadelphia Phillies’ Placido Polanco for third basemen, giving him a shot at his seventh All-Star selection.
